With titles like Sheep Blossum, Jellypreserve, and Fried Flock, Jason DeMarte uses the juxtaposition of pristine natural landscape, very commercial plastic colors and shapes, to politely bring into view the daily conflict between human pollutants and the unprotected environment. Another of his themes is food. He uses a mix and mash of majestic animals with fatty cakes or rococo style decoration to excite viewers with a smile with lingering disgust at the same time.
